Theoretical Perspectives Classroom Textbook

This text presents treatment planning via an overview of the following theoretical perspectives: psychodynamic, existential and humanistic, behavioral therapy, family systems models including strategic communications MRI, humanistic experiential, structural and multi-generational. Also covered are brief psychotherapy, postmodern therapy (solution focused and narrative), play therapy as well as group therapy. The different models are analyzed through their salient theoretical constructs, time orientation, duration, the role of the therapist, the preferred unit of treatment, technologies and techniques.
