Description:

This course will provide you with a 3-hour content overview of the legal and ethical responsibilities related to MFT, LCSW, and LPCC practice. Topics include confidentiality, danger to self and others, treatment of minors, mandated reporting, child abuse, dependent/elder abuse, privilege, informed consent, record keeping, telehealth, and more.

In addition, you will have a 2-hour exam strategy session, which will teach you to apply your content knowledge to exam-style Law and Ethics questions.

Pre-Licensed BBS registrants who renew their registration after January 1, 2023 are required to complete a minimum of 3-hours of continuing education (CE) in CA Law and Ethics, for each renewal period. This course fulfills this requirement (registrants must certify, under penalty of perjury, that they have completed this required coursework).
