Up to one-third of the U.S. population is overweight, and there are a variety of factors that contribute to compulsive overeating: both behavioral and emotional. This workshop is designed to promote a multi-modal format for treating compulsive overeating. It presents some of the contributors to overeating, including biology, environment and psychology, all of which must be assessed and treated. Treatment models are presented to address the complexity of these contributors, and thus include group, individual, cognitive, emotional and 12-step modalities.
