Law and Ethics

A thorough understanding of current laws and ethical standards pertaining to psychotherapy is critical for therapists. This class presents a comprehensive, up-to-date overview of issues such as privilege and confidentiality, danger to self or others, treatment of minors, mandated responsibilities and other legal issues related to MFT and LCSW practice. Recent changes in the law are highlighted.

Presented by Natalie Liberman, MSW, LCSW; M.A, LMFT
Natalie Liberman is a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as well as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles and her first Master's degree in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University. Natalie also holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Dubna. As a Gerry Grossman Seminars alumna, Natalie passed both written and clinical vignette licensing exams (for both MFT and LCSW licensure) on her first attempt.
Natalie is the Clinical Director of an Outpatient Drug and Alcohol Program in Compton, CA. In addition, she has a vast clinical experience working with clients afflicted with chronic and persistent mental illness, addiction, dual diagnosis, codependency, crisis work, trauma, head injuries, elderly/ frail population, as well as working with children placed in foster care. As a Field Instructor for California State University, School of Social Work, Natalie has been supervising BSW and MSW students. She is thrilled to join Gerry Grossman's family, as she looks forward to helping other associates through the challenging and exciting journey of becoming licensed mental health professionals.
