BBS Exam Prep WCV Courses

For 25 years we have adapted to changes in the examination format and we are very well-positioned with our extensive experience in assisting you with the BBS Clinical Vignette exam. Below you will find a description of the exam along with the list of services and courses of instruction that we provide our students to meet the challenge of the CV exam.

Highlights of the BBS Clinical Vignette Exam:

  • Total of 40 multiple-choice questions, including 10 non-scoreable pre-test questions
  • Passing score is at least 20 out of the 30 scoreable questions for MFT candidates and 18 for LCSWs
  • Exam time - 2 hours
  • Typically 4 to 6 multiple choice questions per vignette
  • 5 primary theoretical orientations are addressed
  • According to BBS statistics, only 63% of MFT candidates who took the exam between January 1, 2009, and June 30, 2009, passed. The pass rate for LCSW candidates during that period was 65%.

Treatment Planning Workshop

This comprehensive all-day workshop focuses on differentiating the five theoretical models highlighted in the BBS Standard Written and CV Handbooks: Psychodynamic, Humanistic-Existential, Systems, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Post Modern. The workshop covers the following dimensions of each theory:

  • Key concepts
  • The role of the therapist
  • Therapeutic timeframe
  • Goals and interventions associated with each phase of therapy

Experiential learning occurs through analyzing CV practice questions and learning how to apply a time-efficient scoring system.

This workshop is included in our 22-Hour Clinical Vignette course, and can also be taken as a stand-alone class.

Mock Clinical Vignette Exam

This 2 hour exam, consisting of 40 questions followed by 2 1/2 hours of feedback, will help you acclimate to the CV examination through exposure to vignette scenarios based on the BBS Clinical Vignette Handbook criteria.
