Clinical Vignette Study Course

The Clinical Vignette Study Course focuses on practical, clinical application of the factual information that you mastered in preparing for the Standard Written Examination. This course addresses the higher cognitive functions that inform your clinical judgment. Clinical sequences of actions are discussed and prioritized. The first segment of the course provides a framework for the requirements of the examination, BBS tasks and knowledge statements, and delineates the nature of questions that you will encounter. The second part of the course gives you clinical vignette practice in each of the content areas, with special emphasis on Treatment Planning and Treatment, as you are required to have information about the following theories: Psychodynamic, Humanistic/Existential, Systems, Cognitive Behavioral, and Postmodern.

MATERIALS INCLUDE:

Online Clinical Vignette Test Bank
This testing instrument provides CV candidates with the opportunity to practice on challenging scenarios in a screen-oriented environment similar to what you may find on the BBS Clinical Vignette Exam. It offers a flexible format in which you can choose to learn in exam mode or study mode. The test bank currently contains 320 questions, addressing the tasks and knowledge statements pertaining to the BBS Clinical Vignette content areas. These questions are designed to evaluate your ability to identify and prioritize salient clinical issues. Answer choices are longer and more complex than those on the Standard Written exam, with many listing a sequence of actions or describing a process of applying knowledge. This exam highlights your ability to discern different justifications for answer choices. In exam mode, you have 2 hours to answer 40 questions based on 8 vignette exhibits. In study mode, after answering a question, you immediately see the correct answer and the reasoning behind it. When finished, along with grading your answers, the test bank breaks the results down by category, providing valuable feedback regarding your strengths and weaknesses. It also provides complete rationales for each answer choice.
You get instant access to the Online Practice Test for one year or until you pass your Clinical Vignette Exam, whichever comes first.
